Rattlesnake Master
Eryngium yuccifolium (Herbaceous Perennial)
Rattlesnake Master has basal rosettes of parallel-veined, bristly-edged, sword-shaped, medium green leaves up to three feet long that resemble yucca. Tiny, stemless, greenish-white flowers are tightly packed into globular, one-inch diameter heads. Rattlesnake Master flower heads appear in branched clusters at the top of smooth stiff stems from the centers of the rosettes.
