Agrostis gigantea

Redtop is a rhizomatous perennial grass that makes a coarse but fairly dense turf. The stems are slender, growing to 30 or 40 inches tall. Redtop is commonly used for erosion control, pastures, temporary grass in turf seedings and occasionally for hay.
