A short, long-lived bunchgrass common to higher elevations. More drought tolerant than other fescues, competes well with weeds and can survive with as little as 8-10” of precipitation. A good re-vegetation species for higher elevations. Can be found in elevations up to 10,000ft. Sometimes used as a drought tolerant turfgrass.
