A densely tufted, fine-leaved, low growing, long-lived bunchgrass adapted to areas with over 14” of precipitation. Establishment is slow but persistent, with mature stands being very competitive. Grows from 1-3 ft. tall. Not tolerant of high water tables or flooding. Somewhat slow to establish. Often used to stabilize. It can be found at elevations up to 10,500 ft.
