Canada Wildrye is a tall, short-lived, winter hardy, bunchgrass grown in areas of 15 inches or greater of precipitation. Can grow to 4’ tall. Excellent game bird cover. Good palatability but poor tolerance to grazing. It is commonly used for reclamation where quick establishment is desired for erosion control. It can be found in elevations up to 10,000 ft.
