A long-lived, 12-24” in height, easily established, drought-tolerant bunchgrass native to the northern United States. Starts growth in spring and may regrow in fall if soil moisture is adequate. Good winter hardiness. Excellent vegetation species. It does well in the 12”-20” precipitation zone, often found between 4,000 – 8,000 ft, but can be found up to 11,000 ft.
