A long-lived, slow-developing, fine-leafed grass used for general-purpose turf and erosion control. Some sub species have rhizomes and some are bunchgrass. Adapted to cool, moist sites. Excellent shade tolerance. Performs best with more than 16” of precipitation. It can be found at elevations up to 10,000 ft.
