Indiangrass or Yellow Indiangrass is a bunching sod-former that grows to a height of 3-8 ft. Common on the plains up to 7,000ft. Grows best in a precipitation range of 13-15”. Because of an exceptionally deep root system, Indiangrass does well even in drought conditions. With the beautiful golden color of the plant and 4-12 inch long plume-like seed heads, Indiangrass is often chosen for beautification projects.
